Set to the soothing calypso rhythm of reggae, we will flow through a mixture of poses and meditation. Beginners Yoga classes are specifically designed for those new to Yoga, as well as previous practitioners who wish to return to the practice. Yoga movement focuses on heightening awareness of the connection of breath and body. Poses are taken one step at a time, with modification options given to suit different body types and abilities.
Yoga mats and props are provided, as well as complimentary hot tea. Students are encouraged to bring journals for notes and phones to record Yoga demos to practice beyond the class.
This class is a casual, no-pressure environment that centers the Black community and Black queer folx, but is open to people of any background or identity.
